Porur is an upcoming locality in the Maduravoyal Taluk in Western Chennai and is a sprawling residential area. It is famous for a lake having the same name. The lake provides drinking water to the nearby suburban localities Moulivakkam and Mangadu. It is an old heritage area and its earliest records go back to the period of the Chola dynasty and served as their administrative headquarters. The area has chemical and manufacturing plants. This area experiences very low to no power cuts. Locality is well maintained and clean. Almost no pollution and no noise pollution either.

Only problem with the locality is that people need to have their own vehicle transport. Even though small bus comes around every 30 mins. Getting a cab/auto is unreliable 1 out of 10 times.

Good things here
This society has a good security system in place which ensures the safety of its residents. Roads are good but the society is well planned with well laid out roads, parks and public places. This ensures a good quality for its residents. This society is not so much crowded.
