Sumner Spaulding

Sumner Maurice Spaulding (1892-1952) - Born in Ionia, Michigan. Attended the University of Michigan, 1911-1913, Bachelor of Arts degree, MIT, 1916. Travelled and studied in Europe and Mexico. Worked in the office of Myron Hunt, Pasadena. Partnership in the fimr of Weber, Staunton and Spaulding, later in the firm of Spaulding, Rex, and DeSwarte. Taught architecture at U.S.C. ans Scripps College. Chairman of A.I.A. Committee for design Los Angeles Civic Center. Fellow in the American Institute of Architects.
